New Jonas hill floating installation in collaboration with Klaipeda city Municipality

In June 2020, the third in Lithuania and sixth within the LiveLagoons project floating island was installed. Jonas hill island is installed in an old defensive fortification place called Jonas hill in Klaipeda city center. The area is an enclosed harbor at the Dan(g)ė river delta. Installation was approved and supported by Klaipėda city municipality, which will provide future durability of the island. One of the planting aims of the floating islands was to create a long-term decorative composition. Perennial swamp and wetland plants were chosen, that could sustain 6 (7) hardiness zone. Island was assembled and planted at the location.
